Welcome to Renaissance Elementary School!
As we celebrate 20 years of excellence, I am honored to welcome you to a school community where every child is valued, challenged, and inspired to succeed. Since opening our doors in 2006, Renaissance Elementary has remained committed to providing high-quality learning experiences while fostering a culture where students develop the confidence, character, and skills needed for future success.

We believe that achievement is built through strong relationships, engaging instruction, high expectations, and a shared commitment among students, staff, families, and the community.

Assistant Principal Davetta Cannon
Dear Renaissance Royals,
My name is Davetta Cannon, and I am both honored and excited to move from 3rd-5th Grade Literacy School Improvement Coach to serving as your Assistant Principal. I have been in education for 21 years, seven of those have been here at Renaissance Elementary. With my experience and years of service in education, I am no stranger to the hard work that students, teachers, and parents exhibit each day to maintain academic excellence. This is especially true for our Renaissance Royals.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University, and a Specialist Degree in Teaching and Learning from Argosy University. I have experience teaching Pre-K, 1st, 3rd and 4th grades, and I am passionate about making sure students’ needs and interests are fostered to encourage them to be life-long learners. I truly believe all students deserve a quality and equitable educational experience and am committed to working toward that each year. I look forward to partnering with staff, students, families, and the greater Renaissance community as we work together to achieve this goal!
